So its my first almost
full week here at the mtc and i wont lie at all its already been the most
challenging time of my life. i Really Really miss home and did not think that i
would miss home that much! so the first cople days i beating myself up over and
over again on coming here... bare with me here.... so im sitting in this
unairconditioned room with my compainon and i (who by the way doesnt speak
english only French and can say yes okay and no to everything i say) and im
thinking to myself i dont know what im doing here and all these things about
home home home and farming and all this "worldly'' stuff when one of the
other missionaries from uganda says. out of nowhere Elda Ales will you please
read to me this scripture and tell me what it means. unfortently i cannot
remember the scripture. it said to leave the world behind and to serve the lord
and he promises to me that my services will bless my family and time will fly
befor i know it! so ever since then i know for a fact for a fact this is where
im supposed to be. still having a hard time connecting 100 percent with the
spirit cause of my companion not being able to speak any english. and not just
that but its very very very very hard to distinguish the english words coming from
the african teachers. their english is not our english and its a challage it
really is!
i am most definently not gaining any weight and dont expect to here in the mtc
it isnt all you can eat nor is it apealing food. it wouldnt even be apealing to
those who like sea food whole fish and hairy chicken with very very
spicy foods like rice and some sort of leaf stuff that i am forcing myself to
eat all the time and as much as my body will handle ahahahahah
Things i forgot.. yellow fever card and lots and lots of inspiration haha jk
well family its so so so so nice to hear from you all but my time is limited on
the computers and im running out of time.. my companion wanted to write a
letter on my email and took some of my time up but wednesday we get to email
and go to the temple. wait for letters in the mail and more emails i guess but
i love you all and everything that you did for me and am so very thankful to
have been raised in a family and place where we lived you do nt really realize
how much you have till its all gone
Grandpa Ned, yes you Grandpa you may not write me but i will write you. thank
you for teaching all the things you taught me about respect and disearnment of
the gospel! i hope your streak of bad luck has overturned and is going good for
you! hope your corn jumps to 15 feet and your hay is full very
LOVE ELDA
