What 18 and 19? And 4 times to Baptize
WOW family and friends what can i say, i am absoluteness blown away and almost am left speechless with the news and letters that i have received so the question is where do i start? well lets start off by the mission thing. so here in Africa as you know the technology is still behind on all the world and as missionaries we weren't able to hear about conference or what was said. just only what we here from the mission president and things. around the area. but yes i heard it from my dad, the mission age has changed? WHAT!? for real? i got gypped i should have went out earlier! i could be going home! haha no just kidding. that's so sweet though. now i have to tell all those kids that i told 19 that they can go now! modern revelation isn't that so. wow the lord surely knows what he is doing doesn't he. that raises up the bar for everyone who is a latter day saint! I Dillon Vern Hales encourage all young men and young women to take this challenge that the prophet had heeded and take up your cross. forget yourself and go to the work. "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for i am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light"- matt 11;29-30 So this week wasn't as cool as my previous week that we had. the only cool thing was we were walking up the mountain and i got hit my another motorcycle and survived.... no just kidding there is so much cool stuff that has happened this week. so today i want to tell a story about a boy named Ishakka Kallon. so we met this boy at church as an investigator about three weeks ago. we met with him after church and he said i have forsaken my own church and i know the latter day saints is true and i want to be a member.. whoa whoa whoa there guy, haha we know the gospel is true and all but don't jump for more joy then the missionaries now that we have found you... so we taught him as quick as we could and he has read the book of Mormon and all the tracks that we had left him and had even been attending young men's activities and even our institute class that they offer. needless to say he was baptized as a member of the church of Jesus Christ on October 6th 2012 and confirmed yesterday!! BUT his baptism. was held. we filled the font up early in the morning and people came later and stole water out of the font!! WHAT!? so the water was very very low below my knees. well i had the privileged of baptizing him. his pants were a little big and with the water being so low his pants kept floating up.. after the 4th time of trying it i said to him i was sorry and would have to do it again. he said whatever it takes i will do it! what a sweet journal entry i have for this week! other than that Africa is sweet! its starting to get dry and hot here. for all those who are worried about me being in Africa and what not. don't worry anymore cause i got this! i can speak the languages and i can eat the food. yes yes i am gaining weight. no not loosing it. i already have one pair of pants that i am going to give to a branch missionary or investigator cause they are too tight now. hahah oh and no people aren't putting bones through my cheeks and doing crazy things like that. yes TIA this is Africa!

Elder Hales, I really enjoy following your posts. It sounds like you are having a great time and progressing so well. Sister Henry and I were so impressed with the young missionaries and their knowledge of the Gospel. Isn't it amazing what the Lord can do if the servant is willing.
