No water and no Power

Hey guys so this week has been such a good and fast week! for P day we went and played football (soccer) as a district again. We do a lot of stuff as a district of missionaries together cause we all live in the same apartment. Its so fun to be in the same apartment with 8 missionaries again! The spirit is so strong here. we all get along very well though we be from all over the world. For the past almost month or two months I think. we haven't had power. haha (no bad) but my parents sent me uno cards so when we all come together at nights after all our work is done and planned out for the next day we come together and gather around candle light and play uno together. watch all of our faces light up and just enjoy. such a simple thing that really brings us all closer to one another. As one night we were playing we all were sharing stories of our missions and troubled investigators and things and I couldn't help but to think about my mission. one missionary told a story and so forth. till my own turn they said. Elder Hales share with us one of your own crazy mission stories.. I thought to myself and I said. well I don't have any crazy mission stories.. but do I though? well I dunno I guess you all will just have to wait for me to tell them to you in person! haha just kidding. so tomorrow we get to make our journey to bo for Zone Confrence. its only about 1 hour away. but its a crazy story on how we get there!!! we take a bike to a run down street with all crazy sorts of bumps and garbage and we even go thorough a local market to the place of all the "transports" when we arive what we see is just a whole bunch of people just kramming into cars and vans.. did you know that a nissan centra was built to carry 8? yeah me either. but since there is 8 of us we are going to take a van.. but wait did you know that a normal minivan is built to carry 12-13? yeah neither did i till i came to sierra leone. anyway we then  kram into the van and we all get a nice and tight ride for 1 hour to bo. but the "tight" part doesnt mean on the car. all the doors and tires and windows and things are what i think just about shot. haha but this is sierra leone and that is code! haha once we arrive in bo we go take a bike to the church. by the time we;'re all done we have spent 30,000 leones getting there!! not bad i guess. so that will be our adventure this week..... or at least the one that we have planned out for the week. yesterday my companion and i had an investigator come to church that we contacted in the market named mustafa. mustafa told us that he wanted us to come to his house after church and teach him about the church and share a "god message" with us. so as good missionaries we took his contact and address down and he then left the church. after our meetings i was looking at the address..... it wasnt really an address. it just said in the kizzy school compound, kondegbuthun village... well off we went in search for this boy. after about 45 mins of walking to the village we found him. he was with his mom helping the familty cut potato leaves for the family dinner. of course we ate with them and i tell you it was the best potato leaves i have ever tasted!!! wow i said to my companion we need to come to the village more often... haha moral of the story is that we went to a village and ate potato leaves... crazy story???? i dunno just another day in the mission. lately water isnt running so we have been carrying it to our house. 9 months ago i wouldnt have thought that i was going to be carrying water about a quater mile to wash my body with and to eat and drink... but now i am doing it and its really helping me to keep in shape and sleep very well too! we go and get water in the morning right after prayer and at night after we are done teaching..
WOW i love my mission!!
